Burp Cloths

This last week I helped my sister start on some darling burp cloths. Her baby girl is due in 3 weeks!!! so exciting! I only got to do one of them and then Carsen was not about to let me do anymore, so she finished them but I thought I would post about them for last Thursday's sewing project because we did them on Wednesday but I forgot my camera so I just got pictures of them this last weekend.
What a fun and quick project. We picked up just some of the plain white cloth diapers and some of those great little pre-cut squares of fabric (you can get 3 burp cloths out of one square of the decorative fabric by the way) She decided to add some ric-rac which I think is darling on them.
You can do it with or without embellishments. They are all so different, that is half the fun! We started by cutting 6" x 20" pieces of the cute fabric and folding the edges just slightly pinned the fabric and ric rac to the middle portion of the cloth diaper. Continue folding and pinning and then fold just the fabric on the ends under and pin that down. Start at any corner and sew along the edge as close the the edge of the fabric as possible all the way around.
Voila!! you have a darling burp cloth for a gift or keep for your own baby!!
