Shots and Sickness

Last week Keith was saying that he wasn't feeling well and I just thought that he was getting a sinus infection. Well after a few days and a few fevers later he came home from school pretty much delirious and I told him that I was taking him to the doctor. So he went to the doctor while I took Carsen for his 2 month appt. and he had to get his shots. I felt so bad for him. He is just not a screamer and he screamed and screamed. The nurses left the room and I was all alone with Carsen in the room and we both just cried for a minute. It is the hardest thing to see your child hurt! We picked Keith up from the doctor (with his mask on)and he was told that he more than likely had the swine flu. CRAPPY!!! I was so worried that Carsen was going to get it and sure enough the next night Carsen had a fever and we were right back at the insta care for him. They gave him a prescription for tamiflu. I felt so bad for him. poor boys!! I felt like a mom of 2 not 1 ! haha
The doctor told us to take him into his pediatrician the next day to be checked so i did and the doctor said that luckily this flu that is going around right now is not as bad as they are expecting later in the season so it only lasted about 3-4 days and he will have the antibodies built up, which is good. I guess we will just wait to see if I stay in the clear. Here's hoping!!!

Here are some pics of the day Carsen got his shots and the next day with both my sicky boys!

Carsen's Blessing

We blessed Carsen on the 11th. It was beautiful. Keith did such a great job! I am so thankful for such a great husband that is such a great example for Carsen to look up to. Carsen has been such a huge blessing in our lives, we love him so much. A big thank you to all the family and friends that traveled and took time out to come and support us. We love you all!

My Grandma is so cute with him and Korbin love Carsen so much! He always just smiles everytime he sees Carsen. I think they were good friends in heaven.

Halloween Pictures

Hey everyone, here is an awesome deal! My sister is doing Halloween or fall pictures. She has a darling backdrop of hay bails, corn stalks and pumpkins. This would be a great idea for everyone even if you don't have costumes, just the backdrop for a fall picture would be so cute! She does such a great job with kids, babies and full families! She also does photo sessions anytime by appointment. I have so many things to post about from just this past (very eventful) week...so stay tuned and I will have some of the cute cute pictures that she took of Carsen and our family as well.

2 months!!

WOW! I can't believe another month has gone by already. My sister took some really cute pictures for his 2 month birthday. It is such a nice bonus to have a great photographer for a sister! I don't have them back yet so I will just post some that I have from the last few weeks! Beware of picture over load...I can't pick just one :) I just love him so much! He is getting so chubby, I love it! I think I am feeding him straight cream or something :) He just started to smile it is so dang cute! What a reward, when you can get your baby to smile. It is the greatest feeling ever! He has started making cute coos and little noises too! He is so so fun. I love being his mommy. I had to include the picture of his little i love you hand... I just looked down when he was sleeping and he had it perfect! I love you too sweet boy!!

The other morning Keith took Carsen so I could sleep for another hour and they were watching a movie and I guess Carsen started to laugh in his sleep. Keith said he had this big open mouth smile and his whole belly just shook. What a cutie! I'm sorry I missed it but it was so fun to have Keith come running into me and tell me about it. He is such a great daddy!! They like to take naps together! Carsen loves to hang out with him!

Last week Carsen stared to figure out how to play with the toys on his bouncer. It is so cute to watch him bat at them. He is really good to sit in the bouncer while I get ready. I think he actually looks forward to having something else to look at instead of me in his face trying to get him to smile! ha ha

We went and visited my grandma Zweifel. She loves to hold him. It is so sweet to see them together. I wish that more of my grandparents were here, but I know that they knew him before I did and I am just thankful to be able to have my little 88 year old grandma here still! She has always been such a great example of love and kindness to all of us kids. She is an amazing example to me!

We go to Carsen's 2 month appointment tomorrow, so we will see what his newest stat's are! I'm a little nervous for him to get his shots. I hope they don't bother him to much. It just breaks your heart to see them hurt. 2 weeks ago the doctor put him on reflux medicine. I felt bad for him when he would make a face like it tasted bad, so I decided that I would try it to see what all the fuss was about. After I did I knew why he made that face. It was really bitter and gross. poor kid!

One last thing that I couldn't leave out is....Ma-Ma (Grandma T) gave him his first pair of tennis shoes. They are so cute. It was to funny for me not to take a picture of. Thanks again! love it!

Well there will be many more pictures and stories to come. Here is some to hold you over
:)
This is Carsen's favorite way to sleep! all stretched out!!

Happy 4 year anniversary!!!

Crazy how fast time goes, especially when you are looking back. The last 4 years have been the best 4 years of my life. I am so grateful for getting to marry my best friend.
Thank you Keith for being better than I could have ever wished for! You amaze me more every day with all the things you have to juggle. Thank you for working so hard to make all this happen for our little family. Just when I didn't think there was any way to love you more, something always comes along that surprises me and shows me that I can love you even more. Thank you for always putting up with me :) You are a wonderful Daddy and Husband, we love you. Happy Anniversary, I am so excited for the rest of forever!!!

Crazy shopping!

This is what happens when you don't go grocery shopping for 6 weeks :) ha ha. We took advantage of the case lot sales and did some much needed grocery shopping. We had so much food after we came home from the hospital that we have just used everything up. It was great! The good part is that we only do this kind of grocery shopping every 3-4 months or so. We are dorks, we get so excited when we find great deals! And it is great food storage right?!?!

LOTOJA

There is so much to update I will just try to start somewhere and go from there! So we did Lotoja again this year, but this year Keith decided that he was going to ride in a relay team in the race this year with Joel's brother and Joel's friend. He did a total of about 100 miles. Joel did the entire thing (206 miles) again this year and won first place for his category. Way to go boys!!! I was a little nervous about how Carsen was going to do with the drive. Typically it takes us about 10 hours of driving and even longer with all the stops and feed zone waiting. Total time from Logan to Jackson was about 12 hours. Luckily we got to have some breaks in between, but it was still a very long day. Carsen did so well! He only screamed once just as I was pulling into Jackson and he was really hungry. Poor boy just wanted to stretch out.
Keith was riding the stretch between Montpelier and Afton and then Alpine to Teton Village. We got up really early and headed out, got to Montpelier in plenty of time (we thought) and then Keith had some bike trouble that we thought was going to make it so he couldn't ride at all. Then at literally the last second after trying to find someone to help fix it for almost 2 hours, this guy that owns a bike shop just happened to be walking by us (I call him our angel!) fixed the problem in like 2 minutes and Keith left 2 minutes later just in the nick of time. I don't think I have ever seen Keith that upset, poor guy, I felt horrible for him that he had trained all year and then was maybe not going to get to ride at all.
Apparently the bike worked really well, because he beat his projected time by about 40 min and I missed getting to the next stop in time to see him, with having to feed and change Carsen. Oh well! At least we got to see him come in at the finish line and they all did awesome! It is such a rush to get to see all the bikers! What a great time.
The next day we just hung out while everyone else went to Jenny Lake. We didn't go because I had a fever most of the night and the weather wasn't great to take Carsen out in. It was so nice to have a day to relax. Monday we went up on the tram ride at Teton Village. It is a little scary being that high up. We had such a great time, big thanks to Miss and Joel for making everything work out great. We can't wait for next year!!!
